Most recently, if you heard the name Fatima Jabbe, you reflected back to her outstanding performance in the critically acclaimed movie ‘MIRROR BOY’ and her accolades in movies, which include Expedition Africa, Shattered Hearts, ‘SHAMEFUL DECEIT’, Ibu in Sierra Leone (To be premiered in October 2013). It doesn’t stop here.

Fatima also runs/supports a number of non profitable charity organisations such as ‘Gambia Meningitis Foundation’, ‘Face of the Gambia’, ‘Women of Excellence’. She is also an active member of the British Cancer Research and the John Utaka Foundation.

Despite Fatima’s accomplishments in the movie industry and her involvement in raising awareness on different crucial issues in our society here in the UK and Diaspora, she still remains humble and approachable by FANS and friends. Hence the recognition bestowed upon her for the hard work and performance in movies, which include awards won, such as Miss Africa 2000, Gathering of the African best 2010 (GAB Awards), Best African breakthrough 2011, Pan African entertainer of the year 2011, BEFFTA awards 2011 for best actress, ZAFFA awards 2011 for best supporting actress, Women4Africa 2012.

On the 14th of September 2013, Africa spoke out and chose Fatima Jabbe as their female Favorite leading actress who is qualified and suitable to win the most prestigious award in Nollywood at the 2013 NAFCA (Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards) also known as the African Oscars. The award ceremony was held at the prestigious Warner Theatre in Washington DC USA and Fatima was up against tough competition, but still triumphed amongst the REAL heavy weights in the Nollywood.

Fatima continues to be an ambassador and had recently taken a step further to travel to certain rough terrains of Africa to raise awareness on the issues surrounding Domestic Violence and the effects it has on Family life. To broaden the awareness of this hateful degrading act of violence, she wrote a script on Domestic violence and was inspired to call it ‘Battered’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIINYqlLzPw. In order for her to reach a wider audience and also grab the attention of Leaders in Africa, she made a movie called ‘BATTERED’ (Purchase your tickets at http://battered-a-fatima-jabbe-film-efbevent.eventbrite.co.uk/), set to premier in London at the Odeon Cinema in Greenwich this Saturday 28th of September 2013.
